I spent the last Labor day weekend with these two dearest friends of mine up North (Mn) camping out in the wood. To be specific, hiking it was!
Last picture summed up the entire trip! ~taken in downtown Duluth!
We left the twin cities on Friday night. It took nearly 3 hours from the Twin Cities to Duluth! Our hiking place is about an hour up North and away from downtown Duluth! I'd never been to Duluth before, so we stopped by to see what's up!
We then drove to Two Harbors camping site, decided to sleep in the car, and wok up to this view! BREATH-TAKING!
Successfully spent the night in the car with these two!
Two Harbors, 1.5 hours away from downtown Duluth!
Checked in and all ready pose!
GET READY FOR LOTS OF SELFIE MOMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gooseberry Falls State Park is our kick-start!
yup, it's our lunch!
Weird bubble balls formed floating around! They're huge!
Tea Cheers! Water was taken from the river! Literally! Not so clear, however, we ran out of drinking water so yeah!
OMG, we're out here by the Superior Lake! The view was breath-taking, of course! And the water was so clear!
We ended up driving here, "intended final destination," but we ran out of food. Plus my legs were paralyzed!
That's where we were 1 hour ago!
Back to the city!
Some serious carb and protein contents were quickly consumed!
Some tips from an unexperienced hiker like me:
- Wear good/legit hiking boots, I wore Nike 5.0 running shoes with bendable heels--> bad bad idea ever! Because there are lots of rocks, up and down hill parts that my feet were literally morphed! Thick chunky heeled boots and winter socks are MUSTS!!!
- Pack light! Luckily I was with the two guys, so they carried most of the weight! I carried the smallest backpack contained food, but towards the end of the trip it even got heavier and heavier I felt like!
- A light wind jacket, long pants, tank tops, or shirts with breath-able material because you'll end up sweating like pigs!
- DRY SHAMPOO!!!! De-odorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, wet wipes, tissues, toilet papers... personal belongings!
Besides your personal belonging, essentials are tents, sleeping bags, food, cooking utencils, flashlight, water pump (in case you run out of water, you need it to purify the water).
There will be a vlog coming up soon on my Youtube channel, so look out for it!
